An epic love story that starts in the sock drawer, Odd Socks is a warm woolly adventure that will capture your heart. Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Award winner Michelle Robinson’s funny story is illustrated by up-and-coming illustrator Rebecca Ashdown.
Suki and Sosh love their life. Each day they go to work on their pair of feet, and each night they snuggle up in their sock drawer. But then woolly disaster strikes: Sosh spots that Suki has a hole. Darn it! Sure enough, his warm, woolly wife starts to unravel, until one day Suki is nowhere to be found.
The rest of the underwear warn him not to go it alone – no one likes an odd sock. But Sosh swears to find her...
Michelle worked as a copywriter and wrote over 6000 radio adverts before moving on to television and the internet. She soon got bored though, which is when she started writing funny stories for children and their parents to enjoy reading umpteen times. Her picture book There’s a Lion in My Cornflakes won the Sainsbury’s Children’s Book Awards. She lives in Frome.
Rebecca completed a Masters at Central Saint Martin’s then worked as as a graphic and motion designer, filmmaker
and freelance artist before returning to traditional image making and illustration. Her work combines drawing,
printmaking and collage with digital techniques.
